Health and Social Care NVQ

If you already work within the care sector, you can build up the core skills necessary to provide exceptional care - and work towards a nationally recognised qualification at the same time!

NVQs are qualifications which demonstrate your ability to do your job. The training is mainly on the job and NVQ assessment is directly related to your performance at work.

With an NVQ from learndirect, you’ll be offered diagnostics which assess the level of your current skills and encourages learning tailored to you. This means that you’ll only learn what you need to fill your knowledge gaps.

The courses leading to this qualification are designed for anyone working in a social care organisation – whether it’s a day care centre or sheltered housing, a children’s home or a domiciliary care post in a private home. They explore the values that lie at the heart of all care work as well as the realities of working in care.

You’ll develop a clear understanding of your specific role and responsibilities and you’ll be shown how you can help to create a safe, healthy environment for yourself and those you care for. The courses also cover equality, discrimination and stereotyping and you’ll see the day-to-day problems caused by prejudice within a care environment.
