Level 2 NVQ in Business and Administration: Work within your Business Environment (Mandatory Unit 202)

If you provide administrative support to your boss or department, an NVQ in Business and Administration is a highly flexible, nationally recognised qualification that helps you to become more effective in your job and to demonstrate your skills and experience to current or future employers.

The qualification is awarded once you have shown that you can competently perform a range of tasks connected with your job. You’ll plan your programme of learning, development and assessment with your Assessor and work together to compile a portfolio of evidence that proves you’re skilful and knowledgeable in your role.

This course provides the knowledge, reference tools and evidence gathering activities for the Mandatory Unit “Work within your business environment” of the Level 2 NVQ in Business and Administration. It begins by exploring the role you can play in protecting and enhancing your organisation’s reputation and image. You’ll learn how to incorporate your company’s values into your own behaviour and how to represent your organisation professionally and responsibly.

Next, you’ll learn more about the rights and responsibilities of both employers and employees and the role you must play in dealing with unacceptable behaviour. The course goes on to explore the issue of sustainability and delivers new techniques to help you minimise waste, promote recycling and use equipment effectively. You’ll learn more about diversity - why it matters and how you can treat others sensitively. And you’ll consider workplace security and discover why it’s so important to stay vigilant to keep your workplace safe and its information secure.
