Everyday Maths Skills - Whole Numbers (Level 2)

This course looks at the different situations in which we use large, whole numbers at home and at work. It gives you new strategies to help you calculate and compare large numbers.

You’ll begin by learning more about positive and negative numbers – how to order large numbers, how to add and subtract them and how to work with negative numbers. You’ll learn new ways to multiply and divide large numbers and the special rules that apply to multiples, factors and prime numbers. You’ll explore ratios in calculations and how direct proportion can help in creating scale drawings and maps. And you’ll be shown how to use formulae to solve more complex calculations.

As you move through the course, mini tests let you check that you’ve understood the learning and give you the chance to practise your new number skills in realistic, everyday situations.
