You’ll learn how to use complex sentences to add variety and interest to your writing. You’ll be shown how to ensure the verb and subject ‘agree’, how to select the correct tense and how to use pronouns to make your message clear. You’ll look at the use of apostrophes, inverted commas and commas in a variety of texts. You’ll be shown techniques to help you 'decode' the meaning of technical terms used in specialist texts and you’ll explore how writers enrich text by using similes, metaphors, antonyms, synonyms and idioms.
