Qualifications
Taking this course can count towards part of the following qualifications:
You wouldn’t let your car go without some sort of regular maintenance – and your IT systems shouldn’t be any different! This course shows how regular care and attention will ensure your computer infrastructure performs efficiently.
You’ll begin by learning how to save, organise and protect your files. You’ll be shown how to store and backup your work and how to recover it should the worst happen. You’ll learn the importance of keeping IT equipment clean and be given tips to fix routine equipment.
Then you’ll explore the benefits and risks of upgrading IT systems and software. You’ll learn how to recognise when you need to upgrade, how to determine which upgrades you can carry out yourself and which call for outside help, and how to work out whether the benefits of an upgrade outweigh the costs.
Finally, you’ll learn about IT safety – what regular checks you should make to ensure your workplace is safe and comfortable and ways to minimise risk to equipment and people.
By the time you’ve completed the course, you’ll be able to create your own IT maintenance plan and enjoy all the benefits it brings - longer hardware life, reduced downtime, fewer repairs and increased safety.
