This course is a great introduction to the Internet and Intranets. It gives you all the information you need to get connected and the skills to search, buy and communicate online.
The first part of the course explores what you need to go online – from installing a modem to finding an Internet Service Provider, it gives you a step-by-step guide to getting connected. Then you’ll learn how to navigate and search the World Wide Web securely, safely and legally. You’ll be shown how to buy and pay for goods on the web, how to download useful software and how to use the Internet to transfer files. Finally, you’ll learn how to set up and use a web mail account and how to publish information on your own website, webspace or blog.
