Managing a team can involve dealing with difficult situations. You need to know your responsibilities, both within the organisation and in terms of the law.
This course will help you identify and deal with negative working relationships. You will look at what makes a positive relationship, the causes of poor relationships and coping with conflict.
You’ll go on to look at procedures for dealing with discipline and competence problems in the workplace.
You’ll explore the issue of diversity and learn how to deal with problems relating to equal opportunities, including when to refer the problem to someone else. You’ll also be introduced to the main laws and regulations covering discrimination.
When you have finished this course you will be able to:
• Understand the causes and effects of positive and negative work relationships
• Identify the procedures involved in formal disciplinary and grievance processes
• Identify the impact that diversity can have on policies and procedures
• Understand and comply with statutory legal requirements
• Understand your responsibilities for enforcing relevant rules and procedures.
