Your course description

Understanding the communication process in the workplace (ILM Unit M3.30)

Every communication you make says something about the business you work for. So it’s essential that you protect the reputation of your organisation by communicating clearly, accurately and professionally whether you are dealing with colleagues, managers, customers or suppliers.

This course explores all aspects of communicating at work - from selecting the most effective communication tool for any given situation to understanding body language and learning to listen ‘actively’. You’ll explore the importance of two-way communication, develop good questioning techniques and learn how to use feedback to build stronger working relationships. The course also considers common barriers to effective communication and the part you must play in overcoming them if information is to flow freely up and down the business.
