Your course description

Understanding organisations in their context (ILM Unit M3.24)

No business exists in a vacuum, so it's crucial that you understand the wider context in which your organisation operates.

This course explores the different legal structures of businesses such as non-profit status and limited liability and shows you the importance of being able to identify and prioritise your stakeholders. You’ll look at why some organisations thrive and others fail and explore the three characteristics that successful organisations share.

You’ll learn how to analyse a company’s performance and how to take better business decisions based on financial information. The course explains how economic and political factors such as supply and demand and inflation can impact on your business. You'll also look at how your organisation fits within the wider European marketplace and you’ll learn about the balance of payments and the effects of exchange rates on your day-to-day business.
