This three-part course is ideal if you wish to work towards the ECDL Part Two qualification.
In the first part of the course, you’ll follow four learndirect courses which will give you the knowledge and skills you need for the ECDL Part Two and the British Computing Society Level 2 qualification. In Word Processing, you’ll learn how to open, create and save a document and how to use more advanced functions and features to change font styles, copy and move text and insert pictures into your document. In Spreadsheets, you’ll learn how to create and edit a spreadsheet and how to convert data into tables and graphs. In Databases, you’ll be shown how to build a database and how to enter, edit, filter and manage your data simply and efficiently. In Presentations, you’ll learn how to deliver an effective presentation by creating new slides, editing existing slides, using text effects and layouts and importing graphics, charts and tables.
In the second section of the course, you’ll explore the features and benefits of the ECDL and you’ll learn more about the BCS, who administer and award the ECDL in the UK, and the BCS Level 2 Certificate for IT Users. You'll take a useful "skill check" to see whether you have built the IT skills and knowledge you need to pass the assessment and to identify any areas that need more practice.
The final part of the course contains the four ECDL Module Tests, Modules 3, 4, 5 and 6 and the BCS Unit E test which you need to pass to be awarded the ECDL Part Two and the BCS Level 2 Certificate for IT Users.
