About the course
Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs in the world – but it’s also one of the most rewarding. This game is packed with practical tips, techniques and advice to help you become a better parent, whatever the age of your child.
The game is divided into three sections, which means you can focus on developing the different parenting skills you need for every stage of your child’s life. In the Newborn section of the course, you’ll learn how to keep your new baby safe – from preventing falls and accidents in the home to the steps you must take straight away to reduce the risk of cot death.
In the Toddler section, you’ll learn how to set rules and boundaries for your child and how to deal with temper tantrums calmly and coolly in the home, at mealtimes and when you go out in public. In the Teenager section of the course, you’ll learn how to build an open relationship with your teenager, how to talk about difficult or embarrassing issues and how to give the practical support your children need to become responsible adults.
At the end of the game, you’ll be able to print out the Parenting Challenge worksheet which is packed with notes and tips for you to take away, as well as the addresses of other useful websites which you can visit for further advice and information.
